It is so hard to tell the point it all began,
even what all went wrong, and what’s part of the plan.
There was never a time, our system was hardy

the redrawn district lines all look very funny
We could have elected this nice old guy named Sanders
makes sense in this age of Mars rovers and landers
instead we sunk quite low, now this place is a dump
we’re stuck with an orange, moronic oaf named Trump
He is dumber than dirt, and has no class at all
Obsessed with immigrants, and his dumb fucking wall
his temper tantrums and rants nonstop on twitter
Makes his nonsensical screeds while on the shitter
He couldn’t act alone, he has to have some aid
without it he’s nothing, He’d weaken and then fade
He has lots of support, from Lindsay Graham, the bitch,
a handful of fascists, and a turtle named Mitch.
There’s so much dysfunction, everything is broken,
this is our reality, I wish I was jokin’
We had an election, there may at last be hope
maybe opposition, for that rat wearing dope.
A new bunch in Congress, that sounds so good to me,
some eager young freshmen, including A.O.C.
She’s the best of the bunch, new ideas and sass,
lambasting detractors, kicking all kinds of ass.
Authentic as can be, always keeping it real,
Protesting the first day, all for the Green New Deal
Very bold ideas, all progressive as fuck,
with corporate shills around, we’ll need more than just luck.
Fox news can’t get enough, she’s always on the air,
Saw her twice on the late show with Stephen Colbert.
He asked of corporate Dems, who all show much dismay,
How many fucks she gives? “Zero”, I heard her say.
There is more going on, some crooks were indicted,
That is a good start but, much left to be righted,
Very sad that all wealth goes straight up to the top,
One percent with it all, that really has to stop.
Billionaires should not be, It’s absurd, and obscene,
We’re just talking taxes, that is all that I mean.
We are not like the French, in the Reign of Terror,
We just need to correct, this huge fiscal error.
We don’t need war machines, or dumb shit like the wall,
no breaks for the wealthy, we don’t need that at all.
We need proper health care, and to fund education,
We need roads and bridges, and more conservation.
Super pacs all must end, there is too much money,
Democracy for sale, that’s not fucking funny.
Citizens United, has to go down in flames,
No more special interests, or other bullshit games.
We must have fair reporting, not this crap we have now.
‘Both sidesing’ each issue, is a moral kowtow.
It’s dishonest nonsense, and distorts what is true,
All things are not equal, truth is long overdue.
There is so much to do, it won’t be any fun,
but we will keep at it, ’til we get it all done.
Our solidarity is the key to success.
Our voices and actions, may help clean up this mess.
If we turn it around, we can make it all work,
when we ditch the turtle, and the dumb orange jerk.
